1/365: i'm gonna make this place your home.

Happy 2013!!! I don't know about you but I am so happy that the holiday season is over! Practically blasphemous, I know. We were busy as bumblebees the past few months and Heather and I are so looking forward to getting back to our quiet little simple life. :)

Lots of people make resolutions in the new year and I'm focusing on just one- not biting my nails. This is huge for me! I've also decided to pick a word for the year, one to be my mantra and whose meaning to strive for. In 2013, my word is SIMPLIFY. To focus on the things and people that matter and to weed out the rest. Since my mom got sick a few years ago, my entire outlook on life has changed- for the better. I realized how fleeting life is and how everything can change in an instant, whether you planned for it or not. Since then, I've really been making a concerted effort on focusing on appreciating and loving life because it is SUCH A GIFT! I'll be continuing that this year and also focusing on filling my life with what really matters, and getting rid of what doesn't. SIMPLIFY, people! I can't wait. :)

My most favorite place to be is our home, laughing with Heather and sharing special moments with just the two of us. This year, I'd like to share bits of our home with you! Encouraged by Elsie of A Beautiful Mess, I'll be sharing a picture a day of different parts of our home. I think this will be lots of fun and at the end of the year, I'll make a little photo book to look back on! This is the first home we've owned and I think it'll be really sweet to look back on in the future. :)

So, welcome to our home in 2013! I hope you enjoy your stay. :)

xo, Kara

  4. What a fun idea! I like that you are going to turn your picture a day into a book at the end of the year, too.

  6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of turning it into a book at the end of a year. Almost enough to make me want to do this too - except that I won't, and I'll forget. :(

    :)
    Lurve you Kara.
