stitch witchery

I don't even know what that title means but it makes me happy. :)

Last weekend, Elna and I had a bit of a melt down... and by a bit of a melt down, I mean I began questioning the meaning of life and my purpose in the world because of the quilting crisis I had ALL WEEKEND LONG. It's still too soon to talk about it... still too raw. Stop asking!

Anywho, I've been cross stitching lately! I love cross stitch oodles; I love the finished product, yes, but I really love that I can be crafty while watching tv and having a conversation with Heather all at the same time. It's pretty dang great.

My favorite place to buy cross stitch patterns online is Wee Little Stitches! They have modern cross stitch that is so stinking cute it'll make you want to slap your mama! (don't- it's disrespectful) Some of my favorite patterns of there's are...
the big bang theory- I'm making this one for my FIL for Christmas!
no denying that (source)

Aaaaaaand... their Golden Girl pattern. Yes, there's a cross stitch pattern of Sophia and her homies. Can you handle it?

I started on that pattern a couple of weeks ago and pretty much sang the theme song to the show the entire time. I kinda hope you are now too... you're welcome. :)

Here's the progression of those wild and crazy chicks at my house:
And here are those crazy gals, in all their glory-

Don't you love them?!?! I'm going to frame and give it to to someone for Christmas but I wonder who... to buy this pattern, go  here.

Since I had so much fun on this Wee Little Stitches project, I immediately started another one! This one is for a former co-worker of the mrs' that's getting married this fall. Since it's a gift, no pictures to share but here are the colors:

I know, I know- it kinda makes me want to pee my pants with excitement too. :)
Also, I was recently wondering around Wee Little Stitches' blog and found a free pattern for The Avengers!

I think I may make this for my nephew's room for Christmas... it'd be kinda perfect. Click here for a link to the free download of the pattern.

That's the stitchy goodness that's been going on at Chez Kara this week! Elna and I will be making up soon, after I spend some quality time with my seam ripper, and I'll have some fun sewing projects to share with you soon. INCLUDING, a photo tour of the great Crimson Tate in Indianapolis that I recently took a field trip to! You're going to love it. :)

xo,
Kara
